I have a 512 MB stick of mushkin DDR (not high perf) that I picked up last year. I'm wondering if it might be partially flawed (if possible). The reason is that the AOL instant messenger gives an invalid page fault at an almost predictable rate. Once after boot up after I close the buddy list window, and then occasionally after closing the buddy window.
Also, occasionally (maybe 1 in 5 to 1 in 10) the OS just loads wrong. The my docs shortcut doesn't work, the show desktop button has no image and other things which could be memory related. I'm wondering if there's a good way to find out without loaning the stick to someone or changing the PS to see if that's it. It has been happening quite steadily, even on a different mobo. The PS is an Antec 300 watt ATX, but the current AC into this place isn't so good. I'm moving though, july31/aug1 ish. I want to try at the new place. I'm assuming that the new place will have better cleaner power, but I'm just not sure. How can it be worse though? Heh.
OTOH, this is a RAID 0 config with 75GXPs. Heh.
