Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 91TXM

By Bruce Brown, PC Magazine
June 24, 1997

Mitsubishi takes another tack on total control with the Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 91TXM ($1,600 street). Targeted at the corporate desktop and image editors, the Diamond Pro features a system-level Windows utility that accesses display logic through a serial communications port (though you'll need to surrender one of your PC's serial ports to use it). This utility lets you adjust the display with a much greater degree of control than with front-panel buttons.

The 21-inch unit is based around the company's own DiamondTron aperture grille tube (0.28-mm mask pitch). The Diamond Pro was a standout on nearly every test and placed second overall (behind the ViewSonic model) for its MonMark score. Displayed images were extremely vivid and photorealistic. Our particular display had a very slight but uncorrectable horizontal pincushioning effect in one corner, but not enough to mar our opinion. Given its image quality and reasonable price, the Diamond Pro belongs on your short list.
